Australia boasts one of the finest and well managed fishing fleets in the world. The fishing is primarily tag and release type, with large fish or world records only being taken. The Great Barrier Reef area of Cairns is known world wide as the place to come to fish for 'granders'. A quick glance at the record books will confirm Cairns as the fishing capital of the world.

Fishing can be organized in two ways..

  1. A game fishing boat working largely from a mother ship which is anchored behind the reef.
  2. A self-contained game fishing boat which facilitates both fishing and live-aboard. This option gives the angler the option to be able to move where the fish are.

The fishing grounds range from Lizard Island (150 miles north of Cairns) to slightly south of Cairns. Because of this distance it is sometimes advantageous to fly by seaplane to meet the vessel or a commercial flight to Lizard Island.

Flexibility of charter services exist and trips ranging from day trips out of Cairns to extended fishing trips can easily be arranged. The Great Barrier Reef offers good anchorages and the ability to move to find the large concentrations of Billfish. The opportunity exists to take advantage of diving, snorkelling and bottom fishing in a variety of locations.

We have been in operation since 1981. You are ensured of a first class professional service and we are able to design a charter to suit your needs.
