She dedicates some of her inspiration to paint natural beauty and vibrant colours to her childhood whilst experiencing Australia's Great Barrier Reef and islands for long intervals of time.

      At the early age of 14 she decided to make art her career and at 15, enthusiastically furthered her education at a Queensland Art College for three years receiving honours in painting and has been progressing upward since.

      Cecily also studied great masters of art originals at some of the world's most renowned galleries including Metropolitan Museum in New York and National Gallery in London.

      She appreciates other artists' works as well. While visiting the country historic Estonia in northern Europe where her grandfather was a member of parliament, Cecily purchased an original of a characteristic scene of the capital.

      Cecily has painted, exhibited and sold artworks in starkly contrasting parts of the world - Finland for two months in autumn and winter, enduring the cold and absorbing different ways of life, natural colourings and lighting, London for four months still displaying the clarity in her style, Baja Mexico portraying the arid mountains and beautiful rich pastel colours, and America for eight months.

      She has explored and captivated beautiful scenes in Australia with her art - the hot outback, lush tropical far north Queensland, rugged remote Western Australian coastline, south along the coastline to beautiful Sydney - continuously absorbing.

      She likes to take note of brilliant sights, light and atmospheres, from people, feelings, cafe scenes, high rise buildings, to natural beauty to portray in her paintings.
