Pro Dive is Cairns’ premier Dive School and Outer Reef liveaboard dive operator. Since 1983 we have developed an international reputation for quality, professionalism, safety and value. For clients undertaking dive training Pro Dive Cairns is the premium dive school in Cairns. Prodive Cairns has a PADI 5 Star Training and Instructor Development centre. This means that you’ll get the highest standards of dive education available. 

Prodive's modern, purpose built, dive centre provides the best diver training facilities available with 3 air-conditioned classrooms and a large, 4 metre deep, heated training pool. Experienced instructors are carefully selected for their personality, customer service ability and passion for diving, teaching and the Great Barrier Reef. The Pro Dive Cairns Dive Shop is situated in the heart of Cairns and offers one of the largest ranges of dive and watersport products available in the city. 
Course Prerequisites Duration Commences
Learn to Dive Course (Open Water) 12 yrs of age & Dive Medical 5 Days Everyday except Tuesday
Advanced Open Water Course 12 yrs of age & Open Water or equivalent 3 Day Liveaboard Everyday except Tuesday
Rescue Dive Course 12 yrs of age & Advanced or equivalent 4 Days (3 Day Liveaboard) Sundays
Divemaster Course 18 yrs of age, 20 dives, and 60 logged dives to be certified 18 Days full-time Fridays

5 Day Learn to Dive Course
The PADI 5-Day Learn to Dive Course is broken down into two components

  • 2 Days of pool and classroom training
  • 3 Day 2 Night Liveaboard Cruise to the Outer Great Barrier Reef

The first two days are spent learning the theory and underwater skills of diving. At the end of day 2 you are invited to attend Reef Teach, a fun and informative marine biology presentation that will greatly enhance your reef experience. The next 3 days are spent living on board one of our premium purpose built vessels. Your first 4 dives will complete your open water certification and then as certified diver you are able to undertake up to 5 more pleasure dives. This includes a night dive! These dives will be exciting and truly memorable. The night of your return to Cairns, join the crew and fellow passengers for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Inclusions - On land

  • 2 x passport photos needed for certification
  • All stationary requirements needed for classroom activities.
  • Comprehensive dive insurance
  • PADI Gold Open Water Certificate
  • Accommodation transfers daily (city and Northern Beaches)
  • "Reef Teach" Marine Biology presentation
  • All dive equipment (use of prescription mask if necessary)
  • PADI Open Water Manual in English, German, French, Dutch, Danish or Swedish. Other language manuals available if required.

Inclusions - At Sea

  • 2 nights twin share accommodation on board vessel
  • All meals whilst on board
  • Bed linen - (no towel included)
  • All dive equipment (including Dive Computer and Long leg wetsuit)
  • Use of prescription mask if necessary
  • Log Book
  • Reef Tax
Extras:
  • Underwater Camera's are available for hire at a cost of A$35 per dive. This includes film and strobe.
  • Dive medical in accordance with Australian Standard, A.S 4005-1 (2000). This will be arranged by us day 1 of the course. A fee of A$49.50 is payable directly to the doctor.

Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. For example: heart disease, asthma, epilepsy or diabetes. If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation. Australian medical standards are different to those overseas. A medical obtained in another country will most likely NOT be valid in Australia.

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.

Requirements:

  • Ability to swim

Please Note: In the interests of safety we recommend that you should not fly or go to any altitude over 300m within 24 hours after your last dive. All prices are in Australian Dollars.

Booking Procedure

You are strongly advised to pre-book your course as availability may be limited if you wait until your arrival to Cairns. You can pre-book and confirm your place on a course by faxing or emailing us with your preferred commencement date, and your credit card number and expiry date. Once your booking is complete we will send you confirmation by fax or email.

If you can also advise us of your accommodation in Cairns we can give you your pick up time, however if you unsure of your accommodation details you can contact us on arrival into Cairns and advise us then.

Cancellation

  • Course fees paid to PRO DIVE CAIRNS are fully refundable up to the end of day one of your Open Water Course for any reason.
