Calypso Reef Charters is a family owned and operated company providing daily reef cruises, sailing and private boat charters from the Marina Mirage, Port Douglas to the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Queensland, Australia. Specialising in snorkelling and diving, Calypso's Great Barrier Reef cruises cater for all levels of skills. Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, admire the coral gardens and variety of marine animals or take an introductory dive or certified SCUBA dive.

Having now sold their original vessel, Calypso 1, Calypso Reef Charters currently operates three motor vessels Calypso 2, Calypso 3 and Eclipse, all of which have been custom designed for comfort, stability and cruising speed, with large spacious decks and comfortable saloons. These vessels have been specifically made for diving and snorkeling, with a large duckboard/dive deck to provide guests with easy access in and out of the water.

Calypso travels daily to three sites on the outer Great Barrier Reef. Visit spectacular reefs and beautiful coral bommies. Snorkel and dive amongst the amazing marine life. Calypso's fast, stable and comfortable boats all have large deck areas and spacious saloons - plenty of room to stretch out and relax on your voyage to the reef. Wide stern decks and submersible platforms provide easy access for getting in and out of the water. All seating, inside and out, is upholstered for your comfort. The maximum number taken per boat is 52 passengers.

Enjoy the coral gardens and abundant fish life of the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef with interpretive reef talks and guided snorkelling tours. Our friendly and professional staff provide you with valuable reef information, so that you can appreciate the whole ecology of the Australia's Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest collection of coral reefs.

Departure: Marina Mirage at 8.40am
Return: Approximately 5pm

  • Transfers from accommodation in the Port Douglas area (transfers from Cairns Beaches and Cairns city are available at an additional charge)
  • Morning, afternoon tea and delicious tropical lunch included - special dietary needs can be catered for (please advise on booking)

  • Our day includes an interpretive reef talk and a guided snorkelling tour at no extra charge
  • All dive equipment
  • All snorkelling equipment is included - we have a variety of masks, snorkels and fins to fit different faces and feet
  • Wetsuits, lycra suits and prescription masks are available at no extra charge
